“30% of the teachers are suffering from burn-out syndrome – the rest is in danger!” (found in a german newspaper)

The changes in our society and culture, and in the field of technology have all recently led to new challenges and demands in schools:

heterogenity,
intercultural awareness,
new technologies and
• different educational practices, among other things.
These challenges can no longer be dealt with by means of conventional teaching and learning methods alone.
In many European countries there are increasing indications of job dissatisfaction, demotivation on the part of teachers, even to the extent of drop-out and Burnout syndrome.

„Burnout symptoms are very personally, they are generally „lack of“ –symptoms.“ (McGee-Cooper, 1990)
"Burn out is physical, emotional and attitudinal exhaustion” (Hendricksen 1979)
“People in service and caring professions (teacher, daycare providers,...) are more likely to burn out” (??)
